7/3/12 Little Long Pond

I was not feeling very energetic this morning so I picked an easy hike, but one  that Kelley likes because of all the water, and usually people and dogs.  All were present today - lots of out of staters. We did one of the easier loops, starting from the parking lot for Little Long Pond.

This is part of the Friendship Path which takes you from parking down to the pond.

The pond from the south end

And lots of water related pictures.

  2. HI John...What a great way to spend the 4th...I spend the day at home doing some things that needed some attention!!
    I do love those pond lilies and the one with the dragonfly is a stunner!!
    The wavy grass and the orange and green lily pads are very interesting!!
    Did you get any storms..one here late afternoon!
    The highlight of my day was watching the fireflies flashing over the field with a low fog just at dusk ...that's all the fireworks I need, and no noise either : }}}

  3. Hi Grace

    Thanks for your comments on the pictures.

    It was a great way to spend the 4th- we hike most days so the holidays get included.

    We had a little thunder and lightening but little rain.Kelley gets very upset with storms and doesn't know what to do with herself. The other day a neighbor ( I barely know) came to inquire if my dog was missing. Kelley had gone down to their house and walked into their kitchen ( the door was open because they were having some work done). Luckily they are dog people too so it wasn't a problem.
