7/20/12 Hogback Overlook
These trails are mostly fairly dense woods ( but quiet and peaceful) with the only view coming at the overlook.

The Mountain Road section is overgrown woods road but open and sunny and there were lots of insects
Three shots of this one that stayed put long enough for several shots
I don't know the names of these
But think this is a Cicada
A nice hike 3 3/4 hours

#7 looks like a Black and Yellow Longhorn Beetle. You sure do see a lot of "wildlife" on your hikes.
ReplyDeleteYou always have the best insect photos! How do you catch them standing still? I can never seem to do that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the ID John- sometimes we do- depending ,often, on the weather.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda- patience and luck
John, I always admire your macro-photos, but these insect shots are spectacular!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comments Cindy- sometimes we get lucky and conditions are right and the little buggers sit still long enough.
