6/17/18 Beaver Pond at City Forest

Another pretty morning. Cooper is still with us and she does not like the water but is ok with the fields.

Kelley enjoyed the water while I looked for pictures and Cooper explored - we had the place to ourselves so she could be off leash.

Queen Anne's Lace

Just clover

and a wild rose

Kelley and Cooper do not interact so it's a bit of a trick to get them in the same picture

Two colors of hawkweed

Birdsfoot Trefoil

Last shot at the water before we head up the hill

Kelley was not interested in a longer walk but we had a pleasant time.

6/16/18 Trail Along the Kenduskeag

Beautiful sunny morning but headed for 85 degrees so an early start. I'm dog sitting Cooper. Cooper and Kelley ignore each other.

Kelley taking the lead

Ferns beside the stream were high and thick but Kelley got through them.

Cooper was almost hidden by them.

An easier spot to get to the water

That's all because I forgot to change the battery in the camera and it quit. Still a pleasant little outing with both dogs doing well.

City Forest 6/14/18

Gray day with rain. Even though kelley had hiked yesterday we went to City Forest -- and she got out of the car!

Wildflowers on the way to the pond.

Blackberries

Wild Rose

Clover still wet from the rain

There was woman playing bagpipes and she had her dog with her. Kelley made a new friend

She said she was playing there because noone could hear her - the dogs did not seem to mind

A pleasant little outing. Kelley did not want to go past the pond but she got a little exercise and I enjoyed talking to the piper.

6/13/18 Harbor Brook

We haven't been here for awhile as its a long way ( over 50 miles) to drive if Kelley decides not to hike.  Today she got out without prompting. Beautiful sunny morning in the 70's with rain forecast for later.

The stream was low and parts have a lot of fallen trees - luckily not on the trails

Lots of sniffing

The woods are fairly dense so only a few flowers where patches of sun peek through - bunchberry

The only other flower was a tiny one - about a half inch across

Another bunchberry

Last shot at the water before the car.

Kelley did very well today and we did a little over an hour, which is the longest she has walked in some time. Beacuse this is her favorite trail ???

6/11/18 Back to the Beaver Pond

This seems to be the only place Kelley is interested these days. It was a beautiful morning and she soaked in the pond while I looked for things to photograph. She actually walked a short distance beyond the pond today.

Wild Iris

Bird's Foot Trefoil

Don't know this one

Or this one

Blackberries

We also met a small group of people who gave Kelley some attention which she liked.

6/8/18 Beaver Pond City Forest

Back to the pond. pretty morning but a bit windy for getting close ups in focus.

Heading for the pond

Took this picture of wildflowers and did not see the tiny crab spider until I processed it.

First butterfly of the season- could not get close enough for a good pic

Kelley was happy with the water but was not interested in walking further.  She laid in the grass and watched me look for pics.
