Going to be a warm one so we got an early start and headed to Acadia. A mix of sun and clouds. We started from the Eliot Mountain trail head on Rte. 3 , hiked up the mountain and down the other side to the Asticou, that to the Harbor Brook which took us back to the highway and a short walk to our car. No deer flies today and few mosquitoes except on the Asticou where they were fairly thick- for whatever reason. Kelley was not bothered by them and, of course loved the Harbor Brook section of the hike. In places she even follows along beside with me on the trail and her in the stream.
The trail up Eliot is through woods and the summit is wooded but you do get a glimpse back toward the ocean as you near the top.
This little guy jumped into the grass to hide from me
A nice 2 1/2 hour hike.

Hi John...Love that photo of the Leopard frog I think they are so cute!! The flower is nice with insect for an added attraction,: } and water backdrop!!
ReplyDeleteCool running water looks inviting with this heat, bet Kelly enjoyed that! : }
We had rain sometime during the night, and it just stopped drizzling around 9:00, but it looks like the sun is going to make an appearance, and I imagine it is going to be very sticky!!
Have a nice rest of your day!!
Grace
