Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

8/8/12 Little Long Pond

Warm day and after yesterdays somewhat strenuous hike I thought we should have an easy hike with lots of water.

We parked at the Little Long Pond parking lot and took the Friends Path down to the pond

There are an incredible number of water lilies on the pond

And Kelley was soon among them

Only a few pictures as I was busy chatting and  watching Kelley and the other dogs enjoying playing with each other and swimming. We met lots of friendly people and many dogs. A very pleasant outing 2  1/2 hours

  1. The water lillies were so beautiful. I think this trail is on my list for Violet when we get to Acadia in Sept.

  2. One of Kelley's favorites- because the area is on private property ( all of the light green area) the leash rules do not apply and lots of friendly people bring their dogs there so they can be off leash. And then, of course, there is all that water- Kelley loves other dogs, people, and water. If you use the search feature of the blog you can, besides Little Long Pond, see posts for Harbor Brook and Eliot Mtn.
