Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

10/19/13 U. Maine Trails

Two days of on and off rain with short walks in the neighborhood or downtown but we have another nice one.

We started from the Logan Rd. entrance and this time started the Green Trail from the bottom end and had no trouble following it around and back to the road ( last time we started at the other end and lost the trail). The rest of the hike we did well with following the trails as mapped except for the Black Trails. We knew were we entered  and where we came out but my poor sense of direction and inattentiveness meant we did not know the route we took within the network. We did walk out to Stillwater Ave. to confirm we were where we thought we were. We even did the whole of the White Trail which we had been told was too wet but it was really not that bad. We met a couple with three Labs at the start and that made Kelley happy, and one biker but otherwise had the place to ourselves.

Some pictures of the trails and things.

When we got back to the start we went across the road and down to the river for lunch and swimming for Kelley

A very pleasant 3 hour hike.
