Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. 1/15/13 Snowmobile Trail

Cloudy and back to below freezing. I didn't know how far I would want to walk with my sore leg and the cold had firmed up the crust on the trail behind our house so we opted for close.  It was surprising how much of our snow we had lost in those few warm days. Not bad for the first section ,which gets shade much of the day, but the more open sections had little snow and there were some stretches of ice to walk around- thankfully, not many.

We did manage to walk for 2  1/2 hours so  Kelley got her exercise and  was happy just to be out, though she does not like the ice because of the lack of traction- we both walked beside the trail on the icy sections.

  1. I hate the ice..I can just picture myself on the ground with my head cracked open like a walnut. Probably why I don't fly fish in the winter..

  2. Hi penbayman - I'm already limping from a fall the other day. Now we have light snow- just enough to hide the ice and make it even more dangerous - let's have some real snow!

  3. Love the close-up shot of the ice crystals. Yes, it's cold here too, but no snow and just a little ice due to freezing water.

  4. Thanks Linda. We are getting snow now to replace that we lost to the recent warm weather. We had a lot of ice last winter and it made for terrible hiking. I'm hoping this snow will be enough to Really cover the ice and not just conceal it.
