Gray foggy morning with ice pellets and rain predicted. Precipitation had not started so we went to nearby Walden . The walking was more of a slog for me because the days of above freezing temperatures and a little rain had softened the crust on the trails- it still supported Kelley. A couple with a young dog was starting as we were and we walked the section to the rail bed with them. The dogs got along well and it was nice for both of us.
The fog did not clear but we got in two hours without getting rained on.
The warmer weather had presented Kelley with some unfrozen water to get into and she made the effort to do just that.
