Yesterday was bitter cold and we just did a short walk around the neighborhood ( about 5 degrees ). This morning we got up to gray skies, mid 20's and drizzle and rain predicted for today and tomorrow- the weather continues weird and highly variable . We headed for the forest to try to get a hike in before the real rain started.
We left from the Kittredge Rd. parking lot but Kelley wanted to take the trail down to the pond - we went but it was still frozen.
Just a little water that runs out of the end of the pond - a drink but not deep enough to get into.
The trails had had a fair amount of use and walking them was easy.
The side trails we use had not been used and when we got to the rail bed it had had little use- mostly shiers - so we decided to take Main to the Loop Rd. and return that way. However there was a woman at the end of Main who wasn't happy with us ( dogs are supposed to be on a lead on Main) so we went back a ways on West and then cut over to the Loop Rd.( no leash rule ) and then back to West - just for some variety. It's very rare for someone to complain - 3 or 4 people in 5 years.
Once back on West we met Kelley's friend Cadie and Kelley was very happy- the two always get along well and like to play together.
They each had their own stick but Cadie had other ideas.
We managed to get in two hours without rain- the drizzle even stopped - and met several people and a couple of other dogs so our outing turned out well.
