Possible light snow and mild temperatures. I had an appointment in Bar Harbor to get my old car ( 187,000 miles) diagnosed- not good news but we had planned to go to the pond anyway and the snow had started. We started from the parking lot at the Friends Path and were most of the way down to the pond when Kelley took off running- a sure sign of people or dogs up ahead. Next Bailey ( a dog Kelley likes and has played with before ) came charging up the trail to greet me - Kelley was with her mistress. At the pond we decided to walk the carriage roads around the pond together as the dogs play together so well.
By now the snow was coming down quite heavily and all was beautiful. Lots of dog pictures.
Bailey was accumulating snow on her furry paws and she and her mistress headed for their car when we reached the parking area. We walked back over to the pond and found a rock for me to sit on and enjoy this view with our lunch
When then circled back on the roads to the parking area. This had been a really nice outing - we had a nice chat, the dogs played long, well, and hard and the snow ( we got about 2 inches) made it beautiful.

what camera[s] do you use, with what lenses[if inter-changeable}?

Thanks for your comment Joel. In the summer I use a Pentax K10D - in addition to the kit lens I have a 100mm macro. That camera is heavy and bulky so this winter I have been using a point and shoot that an old friend gave me- a Fujifilm X10. That camera is small enough to keep under my coat - warm and protected from the weather and no lens to change - it has a very good lens so it gives me nice pictures and seems to be working out well.

these pictures are so beautiful. The puppies sure look like they enjoy each other's company. Plus they get tired out for the rest of the day:0
Violet has 3 beds because her dad wants her to have all the creature comforts. hahaha I guess we just haven't thrown the old ones out!

Thanks Julie- Kelley will be happy with the snow and me too as it is much better than all the ice we have had. Kelley and Bailey have met several times in the Long Pond Area and they do play very well together.

"Part way up a snowmobile passed us as it was going toward the summit. I always kneel beside the trail and pet Kelley but most riders are considerate and slow down and give us lots of space. Awhile later we heard the sled returning and got to the side but it stopped about 50 yards from us and the woman dismounted. Of course, Kelley ran toward her and she began calling, "Kelley, Kelley" . I did not recognize her with all her head gear but it turned out to be the owner of Bailey who we have met several times in the Little Long Pond area ( the dogs like each other and play well together) . We joked about Kelley becoming "famous" and I met her husband and we chatted as they gave Kelley lots of attention"
