Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

9/10/12

Temperature in the 60's, mostly sunny, breezy- a perfect hiking day. I wanted an easy quiet trail so we took the Great Notch Trail ( Western on the map) from the long Pond Fire Rd. A mostly flat hike trough the woods with some pretty spots.

Kelley managed to find some pools of water along the trail

When we got to the intersection with the Long Pond Trail we took that rather than climb to Great Notch. This took us to the pond and we walked along that to a rock outcrop where we usually lunch and Kelley has a swim. Kelley likes water to be very calm and today, because of the wind caused small waves, she didn't go into the pond.

After lunch we returned the way we had come. The only people we met were a nice couple from Quebec.  A very pleasant 3 hour outing

  4. Hi Grace

Thanks for your nice comments- a friend pointed out that when Kelley swims she has her nose at the surface of the water and any waves would go up her nose.
