Overcast to start the day so we thought the light might be good ( not contrasty) for a picture of Kelley on the new memorial bench at Sunkhaze. By the time we got there the sun was out and we got the light we didn't want but proceeded anyway starting on the trail that led through the cedar swamp.
The new memorial bench
We then took the Birch Grove spur as far as we could- this trail starts out well but becomes less clear as you proceed and eventually just peters out.
We then took the trail to the beaver pond so Kelley could have a good swim. There was also water in pools along the trail and I got these reflections. Kelley helped with the first by jumping in and disturbing the mirror smooth surface.
On the drive back on County Road we crossed this river and I stopped and walked back to the bridge to get a picture each direction.
Your last two photos are stunning! Not much fall color here yet.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda - just starting here- at Acadia a couple of days ago there was very little.
ReplyDeleteGood picture of Kelley on the bench. These trails look very inviting.
