10/17/12 Penobscot Mountain


Sunny!!! but a cold start (33) that warmed up into the 50's . Great day for a hike. Decided to do Penobscot a slightly different way. The start of the Spring Trail from Jordan Pond is impossible for Kelley and we usually use the trail off the Asticou. Decided to try a section of the Spring a little further up and off the carriage road but that was also steep and rocky


So we walked on the carriage road to the Penobscot Mtn. Trail that we usually do.

This turned into a long hike because Kelley spent a lot of time choosing ways around and I had trouble finding one big bushwhack near the top that we usually do. 4  1/2 hours
