Sunny! Temperatures in the 60s- a 'Ten'. We headed for Acadia to get in a good hike after all the rainy days ( next few days promise more rain). We started from the small parking area at the trail head for Harbor Brook and took that to the Asticou and that to Sargent S. Ridge to Cedar Swamp Mtn. where we shared an apple, enjoyed the view and returned the way we had come.
This is the first open ledge on the way up

Great hike- lots of water for Kelley on the Harbor Brook sections, a gradual ascent with only a few easy work-arounds for the girl. We met two friendly couples on our way down- one on Sargent and one on the Asticou. 4 1/4 hours
Looks like everything is nice and green there. Spring has sprung! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Linda - yes, it seemed a long time coming
ReplyDeleteI'm a hiker myself...any suggestions or tips for doing cutler coast? Sam
ReplyDeleteHi Sam
ReplyDeleteIf you type Cutler Coast into the search box ( top left) it will take you to a couple of posts on hikes we did there. The coast is pretty spectacular and ( to me) more interesting than the inland trail- but it's all nice. You have several options depending on how long of a hike you want. There is a good map here

If we don't want to do the inland trail we just do an out and back along the coast. Let us hear how it goes.
