Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

8/10/10 Walden-Parke Preserve

Heat and humidity have returned so we decided to do something close, short ( 1-1/2 hours) , and early. We drove to Walden-Parke Preserve, part of the Bangor Land Trust, which is less then 4 miles from home. This is a nice woods walk and we did the loop trail and a bit more of the abandoned railroad bed. Very few deer flies which had driven us out of the woods last time we were here. Here are a few of the things we saw:

Wild Blackberries. Very tasty and Kelley approved.

White Admiral butterfly

Queen Anne's Lace

I don't know this flower

A pond that gave Kelley a chance to cool off.

Another flower I don't know the name of.

  1. Thanks. Made me think of all the nature macro stuff I did many many years ago.

  3. Hi Mats

Thank you. The close ups were taken with a Pentax 100 mm macro lens-SMC Pentax-DFA 1:2.8. I'm just learning to use it and the camera after owning them for awhile
