Cold ( 40's) rainy morning. When the rain stopped we zipped over to nearby Walden for an hour. Kind of soggy in places but we had the place to ourselves and Kelley was glad to be out there. Still a lot of green, though starting to turn, and even wild flowers still.

I see fall colors are starting up where you are. I've never heard of huckleberries referred to as "Indian cucumbers" before. There's no seeds in the berries - they are very small. Much tinier than a blueberry, probably at least half the size. Takes quite awhile to gather a good amount. But they have such a great flavor it's worth all the time it takes to pick a bunch.
ReplyDeleteHmm- these were at least the size of blueberries
