Another beautiful day. Because I was busy yesterday and we only did a short walk downtown we would do a good one today.
The loop and auto roads are still closed so near last chance for an uncrowded Cadillac before they open it in a couple of weeks. We started from the Cadillac entrance and planned to go up on the N. Ridge Trail and down the auto road.
The North Ridge has some rocky sections that Kelley has to work around ( she did them all without help) but also has a lot of variety and lots of views along the way. ( Don't know why I didn't photograph the more difficult sections.)
Looking down at Bar Harbor from near the start
There wasn't a lot of water on this trail
Looking back down the way we had come
Almost there
From the summit
We had met no one on the trail up and there was nobody at the summit. After having our apple we headed down the auto road
Almost immediately we met a girl on a bike and soon after her parents. We met several other bikers and four women walking together. Kelley prefers the trails and kept looking over toward the trail we had come up on and at a point were the trail is not far from the road we returned to it. On the way down we met several more people heading up. We again used the new Kebo Brook Trail to cut out a piece of road walking. Nice hike and ideal weather with lots of friendly people to greet Kelley and make her happy. 3 1/2 hours
