Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

12/2/09 Kennebec Valley Trail

I have started looking at trails for possible winter hikes. This is a rail-trail that runs from N. Anson to Bingham (14.6 miles). We started at the Bingham end and walked south for 2 hours (in sight of the railroad bridge north of Solon) and then returned to Bingham. It was mostly a pleasant walk through woods and close to the Kennebec River but also close to the highway at times. It seems it would be a good winter trail and also good for cross country skiing.

  2. It is ice. On the return trip it was mostly gone.
