Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

11/16/15 Hills to Sea Trail

Lower 40's, mix of clouds and sun, and less wind than predicted. Could not find a map for this new section of the trail so I have just indicated the starting point. It now ends at Rts. 137

Kelley was more enthusiastic and energetic than I have seen her in awhile, with more jumping over obstacles than usual. She seems to like new trails.

Waiting for me to catch up

There were several old stone fences

Leading the way again

 Stump

The mix of clouds and sun gave us some interesting light

More stone fence

Another section of trail

 An apple break

Large rock

 and another stump

When we reached the road we turned back. A pretty hike but no water for Kelley except for one tiny puddle.

Back at the intersection with the Dave Rock Trail we took that far enough for Kelley to get into a little water.

A nice hike.  A pretty day and the trail was well marked and in good condition. Kelley did very well. We will seek other trail sections which have been completed.  1  3/4 hours

  1. Although the leaves are gone, the forest is still beautiful.

  2. Eventually the trail will go from Unity to Belfast? That would be quite the hike for you and Kelli-girl..
