Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

5/20/15 City Forest

Sixty degrees, mix of sun and clouds, and windy. I felt ready to boost Kelley into the car and try a hike.

We started from the end of Kittredge road and headed across the meadow and down to the beaver pond.

Other dogs have been here

Kelley was happy to see the pond

Th wind made close ups difficult

One of the side trails

First hoverfly

and trillium

When we reached the rail bed we had all clouds. you can also see that some of the leaves aren't fully out, even now.

How do I get out ? The pools beside the rail bed had sides that were a little steeper than she likes. She was able to climb out- no help from me at this point.

The side trail is crossed by a small stream

This outing went well. Kelley was happy to be out and  seemed to have no difficulty moving about. Me too. We met several people and two dogs, which we both enjoyed, there was lots of water, and the woods are getting pretty. 2 hours

  1. Lovely flowers and great close up of the bee. And your last shot of Kelley is cute!

  2. I've always enjoyed your photos, but I'm really loving them now that spring has sprung. I started following in mid-winter, so this is all new for me.
    Now----how about a garden pic????

    1. Found your comment- spring is late here and then summer is short. Be awhile for garden pics.
