5/1/15 Little Long Pond

Upper 40's but a nice sunny day for Kelley's favorite hike.

We started from the upper parking lot and took the Friends Path down to the pond.

A sign of spring !

Obligatory shot of the pond

The West Side Trail was a bit wet and muddy in spots but crews had been at work on the blow downs. Surprised to find this good size patch of snow when we came out of the woods

A bit further along

When we reached the Jordan Stream Trail we found the stream lower than expected and in it's banks. Sometimes at this point we have to bushwhack around a large wet area.

At the Cobblestone Bridge we had our apple snack and headed down the east side on the carriage road. We don't often meet people on the first part of this hike but usually meet several people and dogs on this section and along with the water, another reason Kelley likes this hike. Today we met no one but did see a woman and her dog near the end. They were above us on the carriage road so Kelley didn't get to greet them.

One last swim

Sharing the pond

Beautiful day and a pretty hike. Kelley was enthusiastic and seemed to really enjoy herself. 2  1/4 hours

  5. Oh how funny!! I took the same picture you did (the second one ) when we were there a little over year ago! We stopped at Bracy cove and got our feet wet at the ocean (very "pebbly" beach and hiked for a little bit in the trail on the left of the pic. Took lots of pics of mushrooms too, lol. That's Cadillac Mountain, right? Ha ! So pretty. Love the waterfalls.

    1. Thank you Serafina- that's why I refer to it as the obligatory shot of the pond. I take one every time and they are all pretty close. Kelley really likes that trail because of the water.
