Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

7/31/13 Pot Holes Fail

Beautiful day- 70's , sunny, few bugs. Sometimes we find the Pot Holes Trail from this end a sometimes not ( it's easier to find from the Cadillac trail end ). We started , as usual, on the Canon Brook and took that to the abandoned trail  sometimes referred to as the 'Dorr Extension' . This is an easy trail to follow and takes you to Otter Creek. Once you cross the creek it's much more difficult- nothing is marked. There are traces that look like trails that peter out and trails that lead to the swimming hole or the road and one to Eagles Crag. After following  down a promising looking trail we eventually decided we were on the trail to the crag and turned around ( too difficult for Kelley and not as nice as Pot Holes) . Back at the creek we looked around a bit more and then gave up and walked back out to the Canon Brook Trail. We took that to A. Murray Young and did a bit of that before returning on the Canon Brook to our start.

Kelley was happy to be out, there were very few deer flies and they didn't go after her. I wasn't happy with the pictures I took but here is one picture of the pond near the start of the Canon Brook.

A nice outing in spite of failing to find our trail. 3 hours
