8/11/13 Petit Manan
Another beautiful sunny day in the 70's. Hadn't been to Petit Manan in awhile and it seemed like a nice change of pace. We took the Hollingsworth Trail out to the shore. This trail is a mix of woods, granite ledge, and boggy sections.
The tide was out
From this point we set out along the shore. There are usually a variety of butterflies and other insects but today I had to make do with plant life.
The shore is mostly rocky but the footing isn't bad and the views are nice.
When we reached the Big Pond area we turned back to return the way we had come until we got to the Hollingsworth. There we continued the loop that trail makes, stopping to have our lunch on the shore. A nice hike on a beautiful day. Plenty of water for Kelley and she seems to enjoy variety in our hikes. 3 1/2 hours
