Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

3/14/14 Neighborhood

Yesterday was another snow storm and Kelley went to the nursing home to visit the oldsters. This morning it was cold ( 9 degrees) but with bright sun and no wind. I had used a neighbor's snow blower to clear the largest part of the snow yesterday afternoon so I only had to shovel a couple of inches this morning. No   snow mobiles had been on the easement behind the house- I went through knee deep snow to check it- so that was out and other trails were also going to be a problem so we just went for an hours walk around the neighborhood.

A few pictures of the hood

Kelley enjoys being out walking anywhere and she also likes people and gets to greet all of them that are out clearing their drives. Lots of talk about the weird winter we have had and which continues as the forecast for tomorrow is 40 degrees and rain.

  1. Pretty! Love the blue sky contrast with the white snow.

  2. Amazing amount of snow--reminds me of the 'ol days in Michigan--I think I remember the snow being that high but I was also a lot smaller at the time as well--can remember making good money shoveling people's walks and drives as well. Hope you get some spring soon but not so fast that you get flooding again, which I suspect Michigan will have problems with--remember the ice flows coming off lake Huron and down St. Clair River?--will be some big ones this year! Hope all is well--seems like Kelley is still keeping you going! All is well here--spent the day on the beach--great temps and low humidity--the best time to be in Florida. Brother Tom

    1. Hi Tom- we have those same memories. Kids don't shovel snow anymore- or cut lawns. We are well except for being tired of winter - maybe next year we will be down to visit.

  4. I have to admit it was very beautiful yesterday morning with snow coating everything. Snow is piled up so high in the back yard, Roxie can jump over the fence :(

    1. Hi Faith- it was beautiful but the rain today spoiled that and tonight's freeze will mean ice tomorrow. How are you keeping Roxie from wandering?

  5. She watches the back door to see if I am still there. She won't do it in front of me. So, I stand there until they come back in. I figure it will melt soon!
