Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

9/30/11 Harbor Brook and Eliot Mt.

Rain predicted for the next few days so we headed for Acadia to get in a good hike. Kelley likes being at Acadia and this is one of her favorite hikes because of the water. There are still lots of fungi around.

We follower Harbor Brook to the Eliot Mtn Trail and took that to the top.

Kelley once again waiting for me

From Eliot we followed the trail down to the map house. This is a very pleasant trail

And from the map house down the Asticou to Harbor Brook

and that back to the start. Parts of the brook don't have much water but most has enough for Kelley to enjoy and several pools deep enough for her to swim. For some small sections she walked along in the water with me beside her on the trail.

Turned out to be a nice hike. We had the trails to ourselves and pleasant weather. 3 1/4 hours
