Mix of sun and clouds and 50's. Was going to give Kelley a day off but she kept coming up to me while I was on the computer, seeming to want to head out so we went to the nearby City Forest. We started from the small parking area at the end of Kittridge Road because Kelley gets to use the pond at the start and the end of the hike.
The trees have not shown a lot of color up to now and many seemed to be just turning brown but all of a sudden there was an explosion of color.
This is across the field leading to the pond
and the drop down to it
Kelley enjoying the pond
We went to the West Trail and took that to an unnamed trail they leads to the rail bed which we took north to the marsh and then returned the way we had come. Kelley was exhibiting no signs of discomfort and seemed excited to be out in the woods. I think she appreciates the cooler temperatures
Some more of what we saw
A very nice hike of 2 hours
