10/16 /11 Black Mountain Trail
Cloudy when we left home but cleared when we got to the trail on Black Mountain Road- it then clouded up again with some brief breaks of clouds. The trail starts out in woods but quickly became more strenuous than I remembered.
But you don't have to hike long to start getting views.
We met these guys at the start and Kelley decided to walk with them a bit. They were nice and gave Kelley some attention.
Kelley had to find ways around a few times and even required a boost or two, but then we came to this section which stopped us. We tried bushwhacking in both directions but only came upon more granite walls so not wanting to overstress her we turned back
A little breather
You are going to share that lunch aren't you?
This was our view while having our lunch
A nice hike even though we didn't make the top. Kelley was enthusiastic throughout and showed no signs of discomfort then, or later at home, even though she did a lot of jumping. 2 1/4 hours

Glad Kelley is doing well. Those red leaved shrubs are everywhere...are those the wild blueberries you mentioned before?
ReplyDeleteThanks- I believe they are blueberries
