Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

1/3/10

We haven't been hiking the past few days because of an extended snow storm. The heaviest snow came yesterday afternoon and last night but there had been enough to need removing the previous two days. I have a neighbor who's drive I also clear so between that and the generally bad weather we have not ventured far and just done several walks each day around town or in the neighborhood. Kelley loves the snow and acts like a child when there is lots of fresh powder. She gets very excited and runs around in a joyful manner. The cold does not bother her and she lays down in it to watch me clean a drive. Two other good thing for Kelley has been there have been lots of people ( out removing snow) for her to meet and new dog friends to play with. When Kelley sees a person she starts to pull on her leash toward them , and wag her tail ( actually the whole back part of her body). Fortunately almost everyone responds in kind to her inate friendliness and it makes for a pleasant meeting all around. When Kelley spots another dog she gets very excited. Yesterday she spotted an Airedale Terrier ( Sarge)in it's yard and it was all I could do to hold her back. Luckily it's owner came to the door and gave permission for a bit of play and Kelley was released and overjoyed. The two dogs played well together and Sarge's owner invited us to stop by again. We walked by the house again today and Sarge was outside so Kelley got to play with him again. She also met a Boxer named Dexter and got to play briefly with him.
