Cold but sunny with little wind. Mary joined us again and this time we used snow shoes. We started at Jordan Pond and quickly came to one of the privately owned sections which had had snow mobile traffic and was easy walking for a short while. We were then back on park owned roads and looser snow but the snow shoes worked well. The hike up Day was a bit of work because it was a continuous ascent through fairly heavy snow but provide some nice views. After lunch at the top we decided to try the trail down rather than return on the road and that was also nice. Then back the way we came to the car. 4 /12 hours
