Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

7/3/16 Hidden Ponds

Sunny, 70's, and windy. We had walked yesterday but tomorrow is supposed to be near 90 so we went for another today and will take it easy tomorrow. The wind meant no bugs but made close ups too difficult.

Bog bridges near start of the trail

Small stream a little farther along

and then she spotted a small pool off in the woods and left the trail to get in it

We normally take the abandoned trail to Tilden but we took a different route today that would take us to the other ponds.

Salmon Pond

A fungus I liked

We took a little detour to Mud Pond - don't know where the name came from as it seems nice and clear to me - and then returned to finish the loop

This one has limited access for Kelley but she managed to get in.

Little long Pond

 a cove off the pond

Kelley did very well. We rarely meet anyone on these trails but today there were lots of people and several dogs. Kelley was happy to greet them all. 1  3/4 hours, including chatting with people about the trails.

  1. Sounds like a fine outing. And you were probably wise to walk when you did. 90 doesn't sound like a day you want to be out and about.

    1. It was a good hike - upper 80's again today - not my kind of weather
