Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

7/21/16 Eliot Mt. and Harbor Brook

Another hot one predicted so we got an early start to Acadia where it's predicted to be 8 or 9 degrees cooler.

Start of Eliot Mt. Trail. Kelley was eager to hike and took the lead at the start.

A section of the new trail from Eliot Trail down to Harbor Brook ( added to map) . The last time we did this Kelley had a hard time with the steps. Today she just hopped right down them.

And then the best part for her. I took a lot of pictures of her in the water but will spare you most of them. The trails are mostly in fairly dense woods so there are few flowers.

Except there was a good amount of this hawkweed

Turned out to be a good hike. Temperature stayed in the 70's and very few bugs. Kelley did well throughout and we had the place to ourselves. 1  3/4 hours

  1. Temps in the 70's--oh, how nice! I'm at 92 and very very humid right now. I think I'd like to go for a swim with Kelley!!
    Have a great weekend, John
