1/11/16 City Forest

Yesterday rain was predicted and we just had a long walk around the neighborhood. This morning was gray and neither of us seemed very enthusiastic so we just went to the nearby forest for an hour.

In spite of the heavy rain and temps around 50 degrees, the beaver pond was still mostly frozen.

Heading into the woods we found most of the snow gone and lots of slush

But there was water everywhere and Kelley was into all of it. These are not all of the spots.

A dreary day - we met no one, which was unusual, my feet were wet and cold and Kelley seemed satisfied with the short hike.

  1. Sometimes it's hard to muster up the enthusiasm, but at least you two got out and that's always a good thing.
TONS of snow on the way---I'll send you some leftovers!
    Have a great day, John

    1. Thanks for commenting Sue - We have a winter storm warning for tonight and tomorrow so probably won't need any from you. Good luck with your snow.

  2. I do not like slush. Glad Kelley got to take a couple dips tho.
