Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

7/17/15 Ragged Mountain

Nice morning - 70 and sunny. This is a fairly long drive but I wanted someplace we hadn't been in awhile to stimulate Kelley who likes them along with new places.

The trail starts through the woods and is basically flat for a good distance but once you start climbing it's up the rest of the way.

A little bit of water

Out of the trees as we get closer to the top

An interesting wildflower

 and ripe blueberries

View from spot where we stopped for an apple break.

The trail near the top was harder for Kelley than I remembered. she is doing OK here but there were spots she had to find work arounds

A couple of views from the top

Kelley and I were both tired

View as we start down

Kelley found a little more water on the way down

A pretty good hike, though more arduous than planned. A few mosquitoes and only a couple of deer flies.  On the way down Kelley was tiring and no longer running ahead and she drank the water I carry for her - usually she is not interested. Tomorrow rain is forecast so we will have an easy day.  3 hours

  1. That lily is sure a "hot" color. Nice!
And ripe blueberries--an added bonus. The views are so nice--I'll bet that's a nice picnic spot (minus the bugs!)
    Have a good weekend, John
