Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

7/1/15 Essex Woods

Rainy morning. We just went to the nearby woods for an hour. I kept my camera dry with a poop bag from the dog park. There was only one dog at the park and Kelley went in to greet it and it was friendly and wanted to play but Kelley wanted to walk so we headed down to the old rail bed.

Lots for me to photograph

and Kelley found some water

The rain was light and there were no bugs. Kelley got to greet a few people and dogs and we got a little exercise.

  1. So many beautiful flowers in Essex Woods! No pictures of baby ducks? We always cheat and hike through the neighborhood; good for you for doubling back!

    1. Thanks - Kelley sometimes wants to go through the neighborhood and we then pick up the trail near the expressway and make a loop. Today we didn't get to the marsh area.

    2. We're often doing a "nature count" and stroll through the neighborhood to add pigeon and house sparrow to the list. I bet Kelley likes the hear the resident dogs along the route.

    3. I don't remember dogs in the neighborhood but we have only done that a few times. Kelley likes to greet people too.

  2. Nice photos! The ladybug shot made me chuckle (I caught a couple of bugs in a similar moment that you'll see in my next post)
