Supposed to be sunny but we got some clouds along with the sun and it was still a very nice day. The trails here are quite pretty and some feel like the Pacific northwest to me. This is part of the Forest Loop Trail.

When we reached the river we turned right and followed the Turner Falls Trail along the river.

Part of the trail climbs to a ridge and you are up above the river on another pleasant trail section.

Not sure which group of rapids is the "falls" . On a previous hike we asked some local kayakers and were told that they were more like 'rapids' than falls and a lot depended on the depth of the water. I think these may be referred to as 'step falls' but the water was low so more like rapids today.

After reaching a clearing in the woods with a large fire pit we turned and retraced our steps to the River Trail. Up stream the Ducktrap seems like a different calmer river.

We then took The Old Boundary Trail to the Forest Loop Trail and that back to where we started.

A very nice hike for Kelley with lots of water and quiet and peaceful for me. We met only one other couple . 3 hours
one of our top running spots for us locals!
ReplyDeleteHi mainely- thanks for stopping by and commenting- I used to run , years ago, and can see why you like it- pretty good footing throughout, mostly fairly flat, few people, and pretty.
