Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

4/29/12 Northern Pond

This was a new trail for us near Monroe  and only about 30 miles from home.  We started with the short Canoe Launch Trail but did not get far as the bog bridges began to submerge as you stepped on them.

The Old Tote Road Trail starts out as that but quickly narrows to a regular trail

A chilly start and we found ice on a small shaded pool

Northern Pond

Another pond- there was lots of water for Kelley.

We missed this trail the first time around and circled back to see the beaver dam

and the pond in front of it

When we got back near the start we went back on the Canoe Launch Trail to see if we could find a way around and were stopped by this stream

A very pleasant hike. The trails are marked, well maintained, and with signs at intersections. Some small rises but nothing strenuous and with good footing. 2 hours
