Asticou Azelea Garden - Not on our hike but we passed on the way to it and couldn't resist the nice reflection.

We parked on Rte. 3 and walked down to the Hunters Brook trailhead. Not far down the trail Kelley became very excited and was jumping around as she does when she meets a dog to play with. It was a porcupine. I was able to get Kelley on a leash before she got herself in trouble. I tried to get a picture of the critter but it crawled in behind some rocks.
We followed the Hunters Brook Trail across the carriage road and climbed toward the Triad.

View from the Triad . Couldn't get Kelley to cooperate on a nice pose viewing the scene.

Looking down the Pemetic S E that we took down from the Triad to the carriage road which we took back to Hunters Brook on which we returned to our car.

A very nice day. 2 1/2 hours
