8/6/17 Harbor Brook

A beautiful sunny day in the lower 70's so we headed for Kelley's favorite


I didn't take a lot of pictures but did get my first damselfly - not the best pic but I was beginning to think I would not get one.

Kelley did very well today. We rarely meet anyone on this trail but today we
met a family and their Lab and that pleased Kelley.

Nice hike on a pretty day - almost an hour and a half - best Kelley has done lately

8/5/17 Kenduskeag Stream

Still working at getting Kelley moving. This is only a couple of miles from home.

The water continues to lower but Kelley could still get wet

Also fewer wildflowers

This guy found a pool, apparently,  sufficiently deep to fish

Another spot and the water was even lower.

We didn't go far but did do a short hike. Later in the day some friends came by with their dogs and took them all for a walk around the neighborhood so Kelley got more exercise.

8/4/17 Back to City Forest

The heat has continued so back to the beaver pond

We did a very short walk past the pond but Kelley was not interested in hiking.

8/2/17 City Forest

We have had several days of mid and upper 80's and not been very motivated. This morning we got out early to try City Forest.

The beaver pond continues lower with lots of things growing out of the pond.

But still enough water for Kelley

lots of chicory and purple  loosestrife

I started on down the trail to get in  a little hike and Kelley laid down. I just kept walking and she eventually joined me.

If you look carefully you can see a tiny hoverfly approaching

Don't know this tiny creature

We got in a little hike but it was getting hot again and I didn't want to over do it. One more time in the water and up the hill to the car

Not a long hike but we got some moving in and Kelley got the water.

7/30/17 Caribou Bog

Nice sunny  morning with moderate temps. Decided to see if Kelley would go for this hike.  She did well but wasn't interested in adding another section that we sometimes do.

Of course, there is water here

There was a bit of a breeze and very contrasty light so though there were flowers and insects I had a hard time photographing.

A pleasant little hike. We met several nice people which was unusual - we seldom meet anyone on this hike.
