Cloudy, forties, and windy - the trees provided a break from the wind.
Kelley behind at the start- too much time sniffing to see who was here before.
She soon found a tiny stream
The next was a challenge for me - balancing on old wet logs fallen in the stream
but no problem for Kelley
Donnell Pond
We walked down the beach until a stream stopped us ( me)
Kelley got in again
Walking back the way we had come
One of the 5 or 6 campsites at the beach
Stream on the way back
A pool she didn't try to get to.
A nice hike. The trail was in pretty good shape, especially since it's not on maps, (my map was homemade by another hiker) and not mentioned in the info on Donnell Pond. No idea who if anyone maintains it. Kelley did well and seemed to enjoy it. 2 hours
Yay - lots of water for Kelley!
ReplyDeleteYes - her kind of hike - all the rain has water everywhere
DeleteLooks like a great hike.
ReplyDeleteEver worry about getting lost in unfamiliar territory? I'm lousy with a sense of direction in the woods.
50's (!!!) and high winds today. Don't think it's going to snow for Christmas around here.
Yesterday in the garden I was pulling weeds. No frost at all in the ground. Very odd for up here this time of year.
Merry Christmas, John
It is a nice hike - though not marked it's easy to follow. I have a poor sense of direction too and we sometimes get off track but not really lost - just a longer hike than planned. Warmer than normal here too with rain instead of snow. Merry Christmas to you too.
