50's and a mix of sun and clouds with possible showers - rain forecast for the next week so we wanted to get in a good one today. We started from the end of Dynamite Brook Road, heading toward Redmans Beach ( called 'Black' on this old map ). This is an old woods road the sometimes looks like what it was but is often reduced to a single track.
Some spring things near the start
We had crossed a couple of small streams but Kelley got very excited and ran ahead when she had the scent of the pond ahead.
We continued on another old woods road to Schoodic Beach
Oh boy, another beach
We met a man with his daughter and we both thought we had met before. He is a painter and I thought we had met about 5 years ago on Sargent Mt. and I had taken pictures of him with his dog. He had a different memory but I found the pictures when I got home and sent them to him. After our chat we headed back the way we had come.
Back at Redmans we stopped for a little lunch and had this view of the trees leafing out across the pond.
and some one had left a chair and blanket- there seemed to be no one at the camp sites.
from there it was back down the trail to our car. It had been a pretty day with more sun than clouds. lots of water for Kelley, and an easy hike. 3 1/4 hours
