This is a spot we visited about a year ago - I wanted something easy for Kelley so we decided it was time to revisit
You drive McGinnis Rd. until the pavement ends and then continue on foot.
We took a short lane down to the pond - some summer camps there but no one around to catch us trespassing.
Further up the road and a little way off it is an old cemetery left from when there was a community here . someone seems to be keeping it up - most of the dates are from the 1800's
only a few headstones on the ground.
A tree I like
We walked the roads around the barrens and these are some of the views. A bit different from our usual hikes
Different view of the tree on the way back
and a final visit to the pond
A pleasant day to be outside even if not in the woods. 1 3/4 hours
