First frost last night and 28 degrees when we got up but the sun is shining. Stalled until it was above freezing and then headed out.
Frost didn't get this one - on the kiosk at the trailhead.
A little frost on plants in the shade
Lots of pretty leaves on the ground
and interesting fungi
No streams for Kelley so she made do with puddles in the trail
Heading back through pretty woods
more leaves
Back at the parking area we headed up the road a short distance to a trail that is not on the map or named but runs along Birch Stream. I wanted Kelley to have some real water to get into.
A nice hike in spite of the need for a jacket ( it's going to get much colder). Kelley was enthusiastic and did very well. 1 3/4 hours
That fungi thing does look interesting..Looks like Kelley girl does ok in the colder water..
ReplyDeleteKelley loves snow and winter hiking - If she can find water when it's below zero, she is in it.
