There is not yet a map for this trail so I have just indicated approximate starting and ending points.
Cool - 48 when we started - cloudy, and windy but not raining. Kelley was enthusiastic - I think she liked the cooler weather . Because we got 5.5 inches of rain yesterday I was confident there would be water for her to get into.
We started on the Goose Ridge Trail from Penny Rd. and she soon found some.
The woods still don't look much like fall
Another stream
Start of the new trail
Another stream - looking both ways
A good day for Kelley - lots of streams or the same one crossed over more than once - my poor sense of direction. Lots of pictures of streams.
Though not the prettiest day the trail was pretty - and well marked. When we got back to Goose Ridge Trail, I decided to go on to the dam for the pond there where Kelley could actually swim.
She was able to make it down to the pond but you can't see her for the trees. Starting to see some color on these trees.
And on the ground
Yet another stream- this time on the Goose Ridge.
The section of Goose Ridge between the ends of the new trail had some blow downs and obstructions that Kelley had to work around.
We were happy we had found the trail this time and thought it quite nice.
2 1/4 hours
Does Kelley come when you call her to get out of the water? My lab used to ignore me because she loved it so much.
ReplyDeleteI don't often have to call her -she usually doesn't stay in one too long. But she will get again at the next opportunity, even a short distance along.
DeleteYou hit the water jackpot for Kelley..
ReplyDeleteYes, all that rain made it nice for her
