We learned about this from some people on our hike yesterday. This morning is gray with rain predicted but we decided to give it a try.
The main trail follows the W. Branch of the Union River.
Kelley doing her shake.
At another point she got into the river where the current was too swift for her and I had to help her out. After that she was more interested in the small streams.
Much of the trail is well above the river
Bend in the river
They call these stair falls
I tried to get down at another point where the water was really rushing but could not because of the steep bank - so through the trees.
Leaves and Moss
The trail ends at a bend in the river and the water was quiet enough for Kelley to get in again.
and I found some floating leaves
On the way back we took the other loop and found some more fall color.
A very pleasant short hike. Kelley was enthusiastic and did well- she likes new places. The rain didn't start until we got home. 1 1/4 hours
A great new discovery..
