7/24/15 City Forest

Another morning of upper 60's with sun and clouds and possible rain. Neither of us was very enthusiastic about heading out so we just went to the nearby forest.

Kelley loves the beaver pond

I got a couple of pictures while she swam.

This snail was less than a half inch long

and I can't resist Queen Anne's Lace

We headed down the West Trail and met a man we had met before and he walked along with us to our side trail. There had been no deer flies on the west but once we got on the side trail there were lots of them and they favored Kelley. I decided to continue to the small stream that crosses the trail so Kelley could have another dip.

From there we headed back the way we had come.

Tiny hoverfly

Back in the beaver pond

There were lots of bees in the flowers on the way up the hill.

Hard at work

Bee butt

Only an hour and a quarter but that seemed to be enough and it had been pleasant.
