Going to be warm today so an early visit to Marsh Island to check out the milkweed for monarchs . We saw a few but they were too far away to photograph. Some mosquitoes but few deer flies.
Once again trying different camera settings resulted in many unusable pictures even though there were lots of flowers and insects.
Couldn't get this one to face the camera
Rudbeckia
The Penobscot was low enough that we could get down on the bank.
Beside the river there were wild morning glory - not the best focus but still pretty.
From the river we returned to our starting point and drove to a different nearby trailhead where there is a small pond Kelley likes. There were dragonflies and I got my first of the year.
Milkweed with a visitor
Not a bad outing. Kelley seemed her usual self and there is enough water on this hike to make her happy. 2 hours
Your ladybug and dragonfly photos are awesome!

DeleteIt's much better playing around with a camera nowadays since digital came onto the scene. It was always terrible waiting for film to be developed, only to get the pictures back and everything was out of focus, etc.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend
