5/2/15 Newman Hill

Another beautiful day. Trying to get the garden started and not wanting to spend a lot of time driving we went to this nearby spot.

We started out up Taylor Rd/ old rail bed but Kelley wanted to take the first side trail- she knows there is a pond near the start. We were going to continue on that trail up to the hill but it was closed for the ground nesting birds until the end of July so we took the left fork back to the road. I had never before noticed this memorial in a field- nothing else nearby.

We continued on and took the little spur to Pine Pond

We walked around the pond and Kelley got some water time.

We then took the wooded part of the old rail bed

to the section the beavers have flooded

Kelley was happy with that

We then did a loop through the woods and back to the road and the ponds.

Black Pond

and in a smaller pond next to it

Then near the end our first wildflowers of this year

Beautiful day to be outside. Kelley seemed to do well and, of course, there was all that water.  2 hours

  1. Glad to see more greenery and less snow.
I wonder if Linda's ashes got scattered there.
Kelly...what a water baby, haha. If there's a drop of water she'll manage to get in it! She cracks me up...

    1. Hi Serafina I was curious about the story behind that marker too. You are right about Kelley- sometimes it's just liquid mud, but she's in it.

  2. The water looks so blue and wonderful. Nice action shot of Kelley shaking off the water!
