7/16/16 Little Long Pond

Heat continues so we decided to head for the coast where it's a few degrees cooler. 70's when we started but felt warmer because it was very humid. Back home it reached 88 degrees but we had watermelon to share

The pond

Start of West Side Trail in the woods.

Blueberries are starting to ripen

 and water lilies to bloom

Last time in at end of hike.

Kelley did well but she has seemed lamer last few days so I chose a shorter loop. It took us longer than usual ( 2 hours) because on the carriage road side we met lots of nice people and their dogs which involved a fair amount of chatting. Supposed to rain tomorrow so she will have an easy day.

  1. That pink water lily is gorgeous!
Glad you two had a fun outing with lots of chitchat. That's nice once in awhile.
Cool, drizzly rain today. Nice break from the heat and bugs.
