Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

11/19/15 City Forest

Cold gray day. Didn't want to do a long drive so it was the forest for an hour and a half.

We start where we do because the beaver pond is near

The West Trail was dark and wintry looking

but we found some things to photograph

The side trail we take over to the rail bed crosses a small stream

and we found this reflection along the rail bed

The side trail back to West was also dark

Back on the west trail - more water

and a pretty plant

Back at the beaver pond - no matter what muddy water Kelley has got into she gets  clean water last.

Looking back as we climb the hill from the pond.

A pretty good hike on a not pretty day

    1. Thank you- autumn came late and now winter is slow in arriving. We usually get some snow in November but not this year.

  2. John, you really captured some goodies this outing. Love the leaves in the water---so pretty.
Snow today, but then another warm-up. Strange strange fall this year.
    Enjoy the day

  3. That hanging lichen reminds me of somewhere I visited in Florida, back in the late 60's..I was in college and my mind may have been a bit "confused" at the time..

    1. Yes, it looks a bit like the Spanish Moss in the south - lots in Mississippi when I was there
