Sunny and cool but not the wind we had yesterday. Picked another easy one. Not many pictures as the dark glasses I have to wear were a problem in the darker woods - everything sort of blended together.
We headed first for the beaver pond but Kelley found water before we got there.
The pond
and our first ice
which didn't stop Kelley
kind of messy dam
We did the Johnson Brook Loop with a brief trip down the Birch Grove spur. We have never found the grove as the trail tends to just peter out. Today we found lots of blow downs and obstructions and gave up.
Almost back and there is still some color left
Kelley did well and seemed to enjoy the brief hike. 1 1/4 hours
The ice looks so awesome! It's like a work of art. So glad Kelley doesn't see it as an obstacle!
ReplyDeleteThanks Betty - Kelley gets in with the ice in midwinter - cold does not seem to be an issue for her
DeleteLooks like a beautiful blue sky.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim - it was a pretty day
DeleteYup..we are into the dull colors now..soon to be white..and Kelley girl's swimming holes will be covered up..(although the extended forecasts look to be rather warm)
ReplyDeleteSnow provides nice backgrounds and Kelley will find water even when it's below freezing
